Abstract

Yi xue cong zhong lu (by Dr. Chen Xiuyuan, Qing dynasty) is one of the medical records mainly on the treatment of internal diseases. The contents are rich with a careful differentiation of pulses and syndromes, and a thorough investigation of pathogenesis. The Chen's exposition was based on the gists of various Traditional Chinese Medicine classics, achieved mastery through a comprehensive study of the classics and found out the abnormality from normality. The treatment was elaborated with the collection of the essence of predecessors' merits and folk experiences, such as the treatment for dysentery, obstructed urination, sputum syndrome, cough and diarrhea, etc. It gives expression to Chen's merits of syndrome differentiation and prescription selection.
