BioRxiv & MedRxiv Preprints
BioRxiv and MedRxiv are the preprint servers for biology and health sciences respectively, operated by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Here are the latest preprint articles (which are not peer-reviewed) from BioRxiv and MedRxiv.
COVID-19: Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome
Although children rarely develop severe COVID-19 symptoms, a number of pediatric cases have been reported that associate SARS-CoV-2 infection with the development of a proinflammatory syndrome resembling Kawasaki disease and toxic shock syndrome. Ongoing research into this Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-C) is highlighted in this feed.
Adhesion Molecules in Health and Disease
Cell adhesion molecules are a subset of cell adhesion proteins located on the cell surface involved in binding with other cells or with the extracellular matrix in the process called cell adhesion. In essence, cell adhesion molecules help cells stick to each other and to their surroundings. Cell adhesion is a crucial component in maintaining tissue structure and function.
