Abstract

This review of anticoagulation discusses not only drugs that inhibit the formation of blood clots but also drugs that induce clot lysis. It includes warfarin, heparin and streptokinase as well as newer agents such as low molecular weight (LMW) heparins and recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (r-tPA).
