Abstract

The in vitro evaluation of antibacterial, antifungal and DNA-damaging properties of some 1,2-benzisothiazole compounds is described. Among all the tested compounds, XXX exhibited the highest antimicrobial activity. A selective antibacterial or antifungal activity was observed for compounds XXI, XXXI and XXXVI. Some of the compounds tested, turned out to have genotoxic properties.
