Abstract

Biphasic biodegradation of any organic waste has several advantages over conventional anaerobic digestion but has a problem of generation of a large quantity of partially decomposed residues in the acid reactor of the system that require further processing to make them safe for disposal. Composting of these residues was attempted and the quality of final product was analysed. A stabilized and very good quality compost was produced. The details of the experiments and results are discussed in the paper.
