Conduction anesthesia in and around the mouth

Abstract

Local infiltration anaesthesia is generally used in dentistry. The so-called nerve block anaesthesia is only routinely used for the mandible. The purpose of this article is to discuss the variety of blocks that can be used by dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons and anaesthesiologists. Furthermore, local reactions caused by anaesthetic solutions are described.
