Cutaneous laser resurfacing: a nursing guide

Dermatology Nursing
K Formica, T S Alster

Abstract

Cutaneous laser resurfacing has become a popular method to treat rhytides, atrophic scars, and a variety of epidermal and dermal lesions. While excellent results have been observed with this technology, complications have resulted when proper intraoperative and postoperative protocols are not followed. The nurse's role in proper patient education, preparation, and postoperative management is critical to the ultimate success of the procedure.
