Siekiant įvertinti energijos taupymo potencialą centralizuoto šilumos tiekimo tinkluose, energiniu požiūriu nagrinėjamas teorinis daugiabučio gyvenamojo namo modernizavimo modelis. Siekiama nustatyti, kaip galėtų pasikeisti centralizuoto šilumos tiekimo sistemos temperatūrinis režimas atlikus pastato, atitinkančio iki 1993 m. Vilniaus mieste pastatyto daugiabučio namo charakteristikas, modernizavimą. Valandiniams pastato šilumos poreikiams sugeneruoti naudojami tipiniai klimatiniai duomenys, suformuoti iš 2007-2016 metų. Nagrinėjami skirtingi G klasės pastato modernizavimo scenarijai (skirtingoms energinio naudingumo klasėms C, B ir A pasiekti). Aptariami modernizavimo scenarijai (nekeičiant šildymo prietaisų paviršių ploto) ir centralizuoto šilumos tiekimo šilumnešio temperatūros režimo galimi variantai. Rezultatai rodo, kad lyginant su esama padėtimi, atlikus teorinio pastato modernizavimą, santykiniai metiniai šilumos poreikiai sumažėja daugiau kaip 50 % taikant pirmą, 55 % antrą ir 62,5 % - trečią scenarijus. Centralizuotos šilumos tiekimo sistemos temperatūrinis režimas galėtų būti pakeistas nuo 95/70 oC iki 70/50 oC, 66/50 oC, 60/48 oC atitinkamai.
