Abstract

The submitted cas-history deals with the possible development of basal-cell carcinoma of the skin in an elderly woman due to the local action of chemical substances (possibly of a cancerogenic nature) in the lead of indelible pencils, in combination with a chronic suppurative and cicatricial process/both in conjunction with an injury/. The authors do not attempt to find an unequivocal answer to the problem but feel that the problem should be "food for thought".
