Abstract

We organized a regular otorhinolaryngologic consulting hour within the framework of interdisciplinary cooperation of medical care for patients with cleft palate. Different diseases of the middle ear are discussed in our study. There is a high incidence of middle ear effusion in patients with cleft palate. Most of the cases with middle ear effusion were treated with tympanotomy tubes. Patients with cleft palates had poorer findings than those with total cleft of lip, upper jaw, hard and soft palate.
