How to save big bucks!

Hospitals & Health Networks

Abstract

Cut cost, cut cost, cut cost has been the hospital's mantra for at least a decade. And while insurers, HMOs and doctors have traditionally pressed for hospitals to control their costs, they have only recently begun to question their own habits. Here, then, are a set of four cost-effective ideas--one for hospitals, one for insurers, one for HMOs, and one for physicians. They are jumping-off points, really, something to recharge your cost-cutting creativity. You may have tried these, you may be considering them, or you may not have thought of them. No matter. Clear your mind and consider the possibilities.
