Abstract

The capacity of new selected sorts of rape and winter cress oils to decrease a high cholesterol level in the blood and liver was studied in "cholesterol" rats. Basing on the data obtained a conclusion could be made on the hypocholesterolemic effect of the oils when they were given to animals. It is suggested that rape oil ("Agat", "Kubanskoye") and winter cress oil ("Sibiryachka") initiate the lipid transport in the blood and tissues thus leading to the reduction of the cholesterol level in the blood and liver tissue in "cholesterol" rats.
