Ixodes ovatus found in Huainan area in Anhui Province

Abstract

To study the morphological characteristics of Ixodes ovatus in order to provide the evidence for future research. A group of goats were randomly selected and checked one by one, and the ticks were collected. A hard tick was found on the surface of a goat, and it was identified as Ixodes ovatus. Ixodes ovatus has been found in Huainan area in Anhui Province, confirming that Huainan area is a new breeding place of Ixodes ovatus. This finding may contribute to the epidemiological research of tick-borne diseases.
