Abstract

This article describes some examples concerning the mechanism involved in the drug toxicity mediated by the enzymes of metabolism. They concern the production of various reactive metabolites which strongly bind to biological macromolecules inducing different forms of toxicity (necrosis, mutations and cancers). Some recent data on the field of protection and prevention means against the hepatoxicity of carcinogenesis are described.

Cancer Metabolism

In order for cancer cells to maintain rapid, uncontrolled cell proliferation, they must acquire a source of energy. Cancer cells acquire metabolic energy from their surrounding environment and utilize the host cell nutrients to do so. Here is the latest research on cancer metabolism.
