Observations on brucellosis in Nagpur Region, India

Abstract

Sero-epidemiology of bovine brucellosis was carried out in farms in Nagpur region, India with 953 samples of which 9.7% were positive. Higher incidences were observed in local non-descript cattle and in dairy farms. Control measures were discussed and fear was expressed of increased incidence due to ban on cow slaughter.
