Abstract

This is a report on the diagnostic and therapeutic approach in the course of pregnancy and puerperium in a patient suffering from Type III of von-Willebrand-Jürgens' syndrome. Parturition and puerperium were problem-free under peripartial Factor VIII substitution with the cryoprecipitate Ristofact (Behring, Marburg). However, over and above the postpartal inpatient period it is recommended to conduct an outpatient monitoring of coagulation physiology in respect to the most important laboratory parameters for a period of up to 6 weeks after delivery.
