Abstract

Problems with drugs administration in nursing homes. A survey in a convenience sample of nursing homes was the occasion to collect data on the frequency of some common problems related to the administration of drugs to dementia residents. Some common problems such as crushing tables and opening capsules, the concealment of drugs in food and beverage to mask their bitter taste, the unavoidable administration of insulin after meals are discussed.
