Abstract

The results of treatment of 224 patients with newly-diagnosed destructive pulmonary tuberculosis were analysed. These patients were divided into 4 groups in relation to the pathologic nature and chemotherapeutic regimen. The most effective results were produced in case of a simultaneous administration of 4 arrtituberculosis drugs irrespective of the pathologic nature. Under the above regimen, cessation of bacteria excretion and curing of cavities occurred in a shorter period of time, and for disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis, these processes were even more frequent than in the patients receiving 3 drugs. The tolerance to the treatment was quite satisfactory.
