Abstract

To report 3 patients with type I osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) who developed retinal hemorrhages and subdural hematomas after minor trauma. Observational case series. Computed tomography demonstrated a subdural hematoma in all of the patients and, in patient 2, a simple parietal skull fracture. The child protection teams that investigated the cases believed the explanations offered for the injuries to be plausible, and a diagnosis of accident...Continue Reading

Blood Clotting Disorders

Thrombophilia includes conditions with increased tendency for excessive blood clotting. Blood clotting occurs when the body has insufficient amounts of specialized proteins that make blood clot and stop bleeding. Here is the latest research on blood clotting disorders.
