Abstract

Autologous bone-graft acquisition using the Synthes reamer-irrigator-aspirator (RIA) is described; it shows great promise as an alternative to traditional iliac crest bone grafting. Antegrade femoral RIA has been thoroughly described, but retrograde femoral bone graft acquisition has not been equally depicted. We present our technique, indications, and advantages of retrograde femoral bone-graft acquisition using the RIA system based on our experience at an urban level-one trauma center.

Allogenic & Autologous Therapies
