Abstract

In the majority of cases, the exercise ECG serves to confirm or exclude the presence of myocardial ischaemia. It is applied both as a primary diagnostic tool in CAD patients with dyspnea or chest pain, and also to monitor the success of treatment. It is, however, important to remember that the information provided by an exercise ECG will vary depending on the patient's age and individual circumstances, and this may make additional investigations necessary.
