Abstract

The results of investigations (roentgenological, isotopic, CSL-dynamics) made in 377 patients are reported. It has been ascertained that at the root of pathogenesis of intracranial pressure disturbances consequent upon cerebro-cranial traumas lie pathological changes in the ependyma and meninges, which lead to derangements of the hemo- and CSF-dynamics. At least four mechanisms particpate in their pathogenesis, viz 1) reduced resorptive capacity of the meninges; 2) partical occlusion on the routes of the CSF outflow; 3) dilatation of intracranial and diploic veins; 4) increased permeability of the blood-brain barrier.

Blood Brain Barrier

The blood brain barrier is a border that separates blood from cerebrospinal fluid. Discover the latest search on this highly selective semipermeable membrane here.

Blood Brain Barrier Chips

The blood brain barrier (BBB) is comprised of endothelial cells that regulate the influx and outflux of plasma concentrations. Lab-on-a-chip devices allow scientists to model diseases and mechanisms such as the passage of therapeutic antibodies across the BBB. Discover the latest research on BBB chips here.
