Abstract

Cytochemically, in smears-impressions of gastric and pulmonary tissue the authors studied alpha-glycerophosphate (a GPDH), succinate (SDH) and dihydroorthate (DDG) dehydrogenases that gives one an idea on the activity of energetic processes and initial stages of nucleic acid synthesis. It seems that a quantitative cytochemical analysis of the enzymic profile of tumor will allow some suggestions as to a capacity of tumors to metastasize and a degree of resistance to the therapy employed.

Cancer Metabolism

In order for cancer cells to maintain rapid, uncontrolled cell proliferation, they must acquire a source of energy. Cancer cells acquire metabolic energy from their surrounding environment and utilize the host cell nutrients to do so. Here is the latest research on cancer metabolism.
