Abstract

Peripheral blood flow was studied in the brachial artery in 30 patients aged 20 to 60 years who had bronchial asthma and in 20 healthy individuals. Dispersion analysis of the results of reactive hyperemia tests revealed that an increment of the maximum blood flow velocity statistically significantly decreased as the disease progressed. The similar results were obtained by a drug test using nitroglycerin; changes in the greater circulation extrapolated to those in the lesser circulation.
