Transcatheter aortic valve implantation with "no touch" of the aortic arch for the treatment of severe aortic stenosis associated with complex aortic atherosclerosis

Abstract

We present the case of an 80-year-old woman diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis and complex aortic atherosclerotic plaques who underwent transapical TAVI guided by transesophageal echocardiography and fluoroscopy with no catheter/wire manipulation across the aortic arch to avoid any systemic embolism.
