Treatment of refractory angina pectoris by transmyocardial laser revascularization

Abstract

Mounting evidence that Transmyocardial Laser Revascularization (TMR) is a safe and effective treatment for angina arrives as an increasing number of patients having angioplasties and coronary artery bypass grafts experience failure with time. Like angioplasty and coronary bypass, TMR is in fact a palliative rather than a cure for atherosclerotic heart disease.
