Abstract

Using the peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique of Sternberger and collaborators the ultrastructural localization of cholecystokinin- and neurotensin-like immunoreactivity was studied in the nucleus accumbens of the albino rat. The immunoreactive material was localized to nerve terminals making probable axodendritic or axo-axonic contacts with neighbouring nerve cells. Within the nerve terminals most immuno-reactivity was confined to so-called large dense-core vesicles.
