Abstract

The use of unrelated donor bone marrow transplantation (UD-BMT) has the potential to extend the availability of BMT to the majority of patients in whom allogeneic BMT is the preferred treatment. Within the next five years it is likely that sufficient clinical and laboratory data will be available to decide if wider investment of health resources into this procedure is justified.
