Update on the pharmacological treatment of bipolar disorder

Abstract

The main goal of the treatment of Bipolar Disorder is to achieve and to maintain the euthymia by using mood stabilizing drugs. This article reviews the available pharmacological treatments of Bipolar Disorder, emphazising not pharmacology but its effectiveness in mania, bipolar depression, mixed states and rapid cyclers.
